“Arlington County Gangs: Exploring the Shadows of Our Urban Mayberry”
Crips... Bloods... MS-13... Are these words in your vocabulary? They're in the vocabulary of our youth. One in six Arlington Public School students knows at least one person who is involved in gang activity.
Join us to hear a moderated panel of local experts address the following topics:
- The threats that gang activity present to the Arlington community.
- Contributing factors to youth participation in gangs.
- Initiatives in place to address gang-related violence.
Panelists confirmed to date include Robert "Tito" Vilchez with the Arlington County Gang Task Force, and a former gang member. More updates to come!
Tuesday, April 17, 2012 11:30am-1:30pm Boxed lunch will be provided.
