In partnership with Arlington Economic Development, the Leadership Institute of Northern Virginia is pleased to present the Black Belt for Nonprofits workshops. Looking to gain expert skills in maximizing your nonprofit’s capacity? The Black Belt for Nonprofits Workshops are designed for the CEO, or senior staff, of a nonprofit organization and a representative of that organization's Board of Directors to take a closer look at issues facing nonprofits and to provide the tools needed to succeed.

The Leadership Institute of Northern Virginia's Black Belt for Nonprofits Workshops aim to dramatically build capacity through education, implementation and peer-to-peer troubleshooting.

Black Belt for Nonprofits is designed as a three-part workshop meeting once per month. Four series are held annually covering a range of topics. Sign up for one series or all four!

Participants receive the following benefits throughout each series:
  • Receive high-level training on the specified topic from a professional trainer
  • Partner with another nonprofit pair for accountability applying learnings
  • Create an action plan
  • Learn industry best practices
  • Share results following implementation and receive professional feedback from both peers and the trainer.

MCN Side Panel At nonprofit organizations, the Executive Director or senior staff member oftentimes assume the role of human resources manager, putting on yet another "hat." • Best practices for termination and disciplinary actions
