Signature Program

Leadership Arlington is looking for leaders who have a strong commitment to strengthening and building our community. This premier program provides you an opportunity for personal and professional growth.  Your peers in the business, non-profit, and public sectors will join you in a ten month leadership program designed to enhance your leadership skills and broaden your knowledge of issues and opportunities facing Arlington County.

Leadership Arlington is a vibrant, growing organization established in 1998.  The organization fosters a sense of community that motivates participants to become involved in Arlington's future.  Leadership Arlington creates an infrastructure that will ensure an ongoing source of trained leaders in our community by focusing on the application of leadership skills in a unique environment.  Our membership currently consists of 800 leaders in the Arlington community from the business, nonprofit and public sectors - and represents 500 dynamic organizations. Qualifications

All applicants must:

  • Be an established leader with a history of commitment to servant leadership. 

  • Be at least 21 years old. 

  • Live or work in Arlington and have done so for at least one year. Alternatively, applicants may submit a statement of relevance that explains their connection to Arlington. 

  • Show evidence of leadership in the workplace, community, or both. 

  • Be willing to commit the required time to Leadership Arlington (program day and study group). 

  • Be committed to using their leadership skills and knowledge for the long-term benefit of the community.

Tuition

Tuition for Leadership Arlington's Signature Program is $4,250. Limited scholarships are available where need is adequately demonstrated (see below). The total tuition includes the following expenses for the initial Leadership Arlington year:

  • Class year program days (attendance is required). 

  • One ticket to Homecoming Day taking place during the class year (attendances is encouraged, but not required). 

  • One ticket to the Monte Carlo Night event taking place during the class year (attendance is encouraged, but not required). 

  • Access to Leadership Arlington’s online membership directory of 800 members.

To best accommodate our Signature Program participants, payment plans may be arranged upon request.

Scholarship Assistance

Leadership Arlington encourages qualified candidates to apply to the program regardless of financial status. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Candidates interested in applying for financial assistance should submit a one-page document with the amount requested and rationale behind the request. All scholarship requests remain confidential.

Application Coaches

Application coaches are available to help you: 

  • Create an application that puts your best foot forward. 

  • Discuss leadership roles that showcase your qualifications. 

  • Assist in preparing scholarship requests or statements or relevance.
